Drop Coffee Shop
CHALLENGE
Some of the challenges we faced when we started this projects. See below.
APPROACH
Functional
Connecting the bar with the kitchen and placing the counter towards the street was our strategy to gain visibility and expand the working area.
By having the bar and the kitchen in a core position we could generate rooms with specific purpose around it. For instance a room for the weekly cupping or a non friction queuing up area.
Aesthetic
Drop has core values of simplicity and honesty on the way they select and process their beans therefore we wanted to work with a range of materials and colours surfaces that stand for those values.
We worked with lacquered MDF, waxed oak and dark coated ash on the fixed furniture. The painted bottom of the walls blends together the different areas under the turquoise colour of the brand.
OUTCOME
As a result of our proposal, the action of brewing or enjoying a cup of coffee is now held up with a practical space design; for both guest and staff.
The upgrade of workflow for the staff come along with offering a faster and better service.
The coffeeshop looks now like a place where you would hang out all day long because offers you a welcoming and balanced atmosphere.
